  • JD_GPS is a module based on the JRC G591 module, supported by Graperain technology G210, i210 and other development boards, which is for users’ reference and design. JRC G591 is a GPS receiver module designed by the Japanese JRC. It comes with the highest degree of sensitivity in the world and best tracking performance, even in the barren canyons or dense urban indoor environments, JRC G591 also has a high positioning speed rate and accuracy degree. Compatible  with Samsung 14B01\02, Huantian ET312, RoyalTek REB3310, ulbox 4X / 5X and other leading products. G591 module can support up to 210PRN channels, including 66 search channels and 22 simultaneous tracking channels. It also supports the L1 band signal set, such as the global positioning system C/A and SBAS (WAAS, EGNOS, MASA). In summary, the module owns the characteristics of accurate positioning, small size, short start-up time and low power consumption.

    Hardware connection

    Use the extension cable 20PIN to connect J13 of development board G210 and J13 of the GPS module port; Short out PIN 1, PIN 2 of J14 and J15 by a mini jumper.

    JD_GPS module Quick Test

    Start the development board, ensure the development board serial device node with read-write permissions, if you do not have read-write permissions, modify init.rc script with particular reference to android platform user manual. After modified the android4.0 property are as follows:

     

    Enter the system, ensure PIN 1, PIN 2 of J14 and J15 have been shorted out by the mini jumper, then execute the following command in the terminal:

    busybox stty -F /dev/ttySAC3 speed 9600 –echo

    cat /dev/ttySAC3 &

    In this case, the serial port can monitor the GPS data.
